County Election Manifesto 2026

27 Mar 2026
Sign saying Norfolk: Nelson's County

We're excited to announce the Norfolk Liberal Democrats' 2026 election manifesto! In the upcoming local elections, we'll be running candidates across Breckland and SW Norfolk committed to our core SIX TO FIX:

  1. Getting devolution done, moving the process forward to unlock more funding for our county.
  2. Getting Norfolk moving, with a youth bus pass for 18-25 year olds, and a local family railcard for Norfolk and Suffolk.
  3. Getting dentists trained here, campaigning for the UEA to be able to develop and realise its plans for a dental training school: we shouldn't be the only region in the country without one.
  4. Use tech to spot and fix potholes faster, smoothing the system and ensuring a better experience for Norfolk's motorists.
  5. Community hubs for all major towns, boosting local investment, services, and transport with a new central infrastructure.
  6. Tackling coastal erosion, flooding, and sewage issues. Steffan Aquarone, our Lib Dem MP for North Norfolk, has called for a dedicated minister for supporting coastal communities, and every Lib Dem in country hall will be challenging the government to do better with lasting plans that work and suppport our communities.

On Thursday 7 May, people across Norfolk will have a chance to make their voice heard. With Nigel Farage and Rupert Lowe desperate to carve up our county between them, and with us as the main party challenging them across most of the county, Norfolk faces a clear choice between the chaos and mismanagement that has plagued Reform and Restore councils and a secure, prosperous future with the Liberal Democrats.
